Had a fun time at Copia. Really enjoyed Saturday night supper. Fun time. Met a lot of folks on this Forum. Great food and drinks. Kudos to Pete “JACKFISH” Swiggum for putting it together and being emcee for the night.
The GB Packer backer (Jackfish ) vs. Tennessee Titan fan “ Jerry Vandiver” part of the meeting was hilarious.
Can’t wait til next year !

We had such a good time this year! Thanks Pete and Debbie for all that you did to make our dinner get-together a success. And Pete, your Quetico presentation was excellent, too!
It was fun to finally meet Adam face to face. If it weren't for Adam we wouldn't have this amazing community.
We enjoyed the presentations we attended. (I really enjoyed the Zanzibar chocolate ice cream!) We were so glad to see Kevin back, and we laughed so much at the Aluminum Chef competition. We enjoyed spending some time with our Quiet Journey friends, too. And of course the most enjoyment for us was attending all three of Jerry's performances with the fabulous "One Match Band", plus some great additions! Great to have Amberly back on fiddle, Amanda on bass! Adding the kids and Darren is always a treat. Kevin was a fine addition on Saturday when he played Blues Harmonica on "Blue Bandana Blues". Odd as it might seem to attend three presentations of the "same" program. . .each one was different and had its own charm.
Great memories. If you don't do Canoecopia, I would suggest you try to make it an annual part of your life. We find it well worth the trip every year, and we don't even do wilderness canoe trips anymore!

Lynda, thanks for the kind words. It's always nice to see you and Neil.

Thanks to everyone who came to the dinner on Saturday night. I appreciate all the kind words. (I have shared them with Debbie, too!) :)
I thought the venue and service was very good, the meal was tasty and lots of fun was had by all. We'll work to eliminate the glitches for next year's dinner. We have a lot of great people in this group. Thank you, all!
Special thanks to Adam for being there and for bringing so many great door prizes. Thanks to Old Scout and to NoJoBro for donating door prizes... and thanks to longtime website sponsors Carl & Mike from Rockwood Lodge, Sarah from Sawtooth Outfitters and John & Lynn from Voyageur North Outfitters (emeritus status) :) for joining us, too. Rockwood also donated some door prizes.

I had a great time at the dinner. Thanks Jackfish and Mrs. Jackfish for setting it up.
So great to meet many of you that I've interacted with over the years.
See you all next year!

It sounds and looks great! Thanks for the photos and reports! I really like the photo of Spartan1 and that inflatable loon! The Loon appears to be holding a person! That Loon would look funny floating on a non BW lake!
I hope someday to attend and see everyone, listen to Jerry and crew perform and attend the presentations. And buy stuff too.
Unfortunately I’m usually stuck in Arizona in March with oppressive heat, endless blue skies and things that bite and sting. Someday though…..

It was a wonderful get together. Thanks to Jackfish for putting it all together, Mrs. Jackfish for keeping things organized at the dinner, and Adam for managing a fantastic board that brought all together.
The strangest thing happened to me at the dinner. I was standing alone when a man, also named Mike, introduced himself to me out of the blue. He also introduced me to his girlfriend, his friend Dan, and Dan's fiancée. We made a bit of small talk and I asked them what their trip plans were for this year. Mike said that him and Dan will go up together, and put in on Clearwater Lake on May 21. That floored me because my wife and I are also putting in at Clearwater Lake, on May 21. There are only two permits available per da…..and I happen to spontaneously meet the other party who had the other permit. Strange how those things work.

I did indeed rock down to Electric Avenue, but I did not take it higher. I regret that.

There's actually one about that size that is put out on Silver Lake in Virginia, Minnesota every spring. And, a land of the loon festival/parade etc towards the end of June.

Thank you Jackfish and Mrs for organizing the dinner and navigating the significant issue directly and without killing the spirit of the event. It was good to see everyone. and echoing Spartan 2, Canoecopia was just a great event again this year. Probably my favorite of the 15-16 I've been to. Certainly having all the Canadians back was a part of that.

Great people, great food, great evening all around but too short as always. I wish we had time to switch tables every so often and meet everyone. Thank you all for visiting with us here in Madison. Huge thank you to Pete and Debbie and Adam for helping organize everything.

I guess I'm not the only one who noticed the popularity of Jackfish's presentation --- people were packing in the previous two presentations and sitting through them, just so they could get a seat for Pete's Q talk!
