Mark your calendars for a mini wingnight and factory tour.

When: April 19th - 6:30pm.
Where: The evening will start at Grey Duck Outdoors in Roseville, MN followed by a gathering at the nearby Buffalo Wild Wings at approx 7:30pm.

Grey Duck Outdoor
925 Oakcrest Ave - Suite 4
Roseville, MN 55113

Buffalo Wild Wings - 1777 County Road B2 W #215A, Roseville, MN 55113

This is a unique opportunity to see how their new Vision 17 canoe is made. Their process of vacuum sealing dry kevlar before infusing it with resin is different and more eco-friendly than the traditional wet layup process.

Drop an rvsp in this thread if you plan to attend. Looking forward to meeting up with members!

Put me down for two, please.

Sounds like fun, although coming just 4 days after I send in a chunk to the IRS, I probably won't be buying a new canoe, no matter how light and sustainable it is.

Got it on the calendar. If I can wrangle out of kids activities driving duties for the evening, I'll be there.

Edit: schedule won't cooperate. Sorry to miss a chance to meet some folks.

My wife and I will try to make it. Love to see your canoes, though we own two Souris Rivers and one Bell. I'm quite interested in your process. Plus, you never know when we might need another!

My calendar is open so why not. Just down the road. I picked up a Northstar Northwind 17 last fall to go along with the SRQ18 and SRQ16 Solo so I'm not in the market for another canoe right now but I'm interested to see how these things are put together.

See you there,

If ketchup says it's OK I think I'll be there. ?? ( not trying to be disrespectful of a medical condition. Just thought I'd attempt some humor) But, I do plan on coming. Pete

Add another to the list. My son Zach said he likes canoes and really likes Wings so it's a Win- Win.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

That particular BW3s doesn't take reservations, but they made a note for 7:30 - 7:45ish that there is a group of 16 or some coming in so hopefully they will try to keep a big table open for us.

Thanks Adam for arranging a tour of Greyduck. Thanks to owner Rob Bossen and designer Eli Nord for a great tour. It was interesting to learn about the process, see the boats and meet staff and BWCA.com members. I’m really impressed with the passion and drive it takes to start a business like this. I’m looking forward to paddling one of the boats at a demo this year.

Greyduck also makes Standup Paddle Boards. If you zoom in on the top photo you can see the portage yoke they designed for those wishing to trip on a SUP!

We are at BWW in Roseville until about 10:00 if you are in the neighborhood!

Their boats are gorgeous! I really hope to own one someday.

Well said !

Their Vision 17 canoe has the look of a really nice BWCA canoe. This is what they were trying to create - a boat that was good at most everything expected for a normal BWCA/Quetico trip. I kept thinking how badly I wanted to just hop in one and go for a paddle!!

Thanks to all who joined us last night. Was great seeing both new and familiar faces and sharing what we're up to!

It was well worth my time to listen to Rob and Eli explain how their "baby" was born. From the Greyduck company's start up, to the design and manufacturing process, it was all very interesting.

I'm no canoe expert but I do have my favorites, the MNII and the Northwind 17. When the question was asked, "What does the Vision 17 compare to on the market today?" Eli answered, "Think of the MNII and the Northwind coming together." My favorites all squished into one! Perfect!!! It's a great looking canoe I hope to paddle someday!

Thank you everyone for organizing this event!

(Let's not forget Kent who was there helping. I'm sure he had something to do with Eli's passion for canoes. Way to go dad!)

^yeah, what Kendra said. It was interesting to learn about their canoe making process which is different than others. Looking forward to seeing some Grey Ducks on the water.

A big thank you to Adam and the crew at Gray Duck. Looks like they are making great canoes. Looking forward to seeing the Gray Duck logo in the future when paddling in the Boundary Waters and Quetico.
It was good putting a face to a BWCA. Com login. Hope our paths pass in the future.

Great event! Thank you to the crew at Grey Duck for an excellent tour. It very much exceeded my expectation.

Thank you to everyone who showed up new and old alike!

For those that missed this, drop a note over to Rob at info@greyduckoutdoor.com. They are more than happy to accommodate you coming by if you are interested.

Note that there is a well stocked REI just around the corner so you can kill two birds with one stone.

Really fun to see what Grey Duck is doing. Loved the canoes and learning about their process. And fun to have a canoe builder practically in my backyard! Thanks to all who made this happen.
