Are there any outfitters with Northstar Trillium canoes in their fleet? The closest I have found is the larger NS Northwind Solo. Hoping to rent to try before buying, on a multi day trip. My permit is for Brule Lake, but I could pick up at just about anywhere in St Louis or Lake County.

Call Northstar. They'll most likely know if anyone does.

If you don't mind me asking, what is the draw you have for the Trillium over the other larger solos?

. My thought is that I like the design on paper. I’m not very tall, and reaching the water effectively while soloing is important to me. So, narrow, lower sides, plus lighter and easy to handle and load onto cars and such. While still being able to carry me and my lightweight gear. Less concerned about straight line speed, and looking for a balance of maneuverability and tracking. Expert level tandem skills, still on a learning curve for solo. The Trillium seems to tick a lot of boxes for me and thus I want to try it if it’s available.

There's one just listed for sale on canoe tripping.net at a great price. Rochester NY.

I hope you're able to test drive or rent one. It really is an awesome boat provided your build suits it. It does everything I'd hoped it would. Light & maneuverable.

Hungry Jack Outfitters has a Trillium, I've rented from them. I sold my Bell Wildfire b/c I can't kneel comfortable anymore (post knee replacement). Would like to buy a Trillium, have been looking for a used one (not easy to find).
