Has anyone stopped in at Seine River Lodge and checked out their food and brews? I think we'll check it out after our trip in June.

My paddle partners and I have tent camped at Quent and Lori's place multiple times prior to entry into the Quetico through Beaverhouse. The hosts are amazing, the breakfasts and dinners outstanding and microbrews "delicious", according to my good friend Mike. On three occasions Seine River Lodge has come to our rescue: spur of the moment cabin accommodations during a relentless and torrential rain, the loan of a rain fly when we learned that one of ours had failed and the use of a sleeping pad after the "new out of the box" unit was found to be defective. The view from the recently renovated dining hall is exactly what comes to a canoe camper's mind when thinking about lake country. I highly recommend Seine River Lodge for a pre or post trip stop. My gang and I will be there prior to another adventure this May.

"Packaged beer to go is coming soon."
I might have to pick up a 6-pack on my way out if available.

Some pretty good endorsements! I’m always interested in trying a new brewery. They aren’t listing any beers though but maybe it’s more of a summer thing. I just talked to a guy tonight at the expo who is entering near that area. West of Atikokan the one where you have to go though several lakes to get into the Quetico. I definitely still recommend Camp Quetico farther east after my experience last year but this place is right near his groups entry. I’ll have to mention this place as an option when we chat. He had some questions and still wanted some help with planning. I did steer him here as well since it’s a great group with a lot of experience and willing to share.

Ended up booking my sons Quetico trip with Seine River Lodge. They are camping night before and night after at the lodge, Shuttling them into Beaverhouse and a pick up at Stanton bay when they exit. Couple meals and showers. They were really friendly great to talk to and accommodating with just needing limited services and not full outfitting.

Canoe Canada in Atikokan is only interested in full outfitting clients or maybe if you rented canoes from them. I got the BS from them about how they can’t haul someone else’s canoe with their insurance,

Needless to say I’m happy Jackfish mentioned this place.

Used them again last year. Excellent accommodations and service. Food was good and their beer was exceptional according to my paddle buddy (big-time microbrew enthusiast). I would recommend them for sure.

Nice to hear good things about Quetico Brewing. We're entering Q from the north in a couple weeks and will definitely be making a pit stop to have a beer, buy a beer or at least buy a t-shirt or something. With a name like Quetico Brewing, how could we not? :)

I’d love to have my son buy me a few beers from them and bring them back if they are canning or bottling. They are both only 18 though so thinking that would not be a good idea for several different reasons.

The shirt or sweatshirt idea is a great idea though so I’ll have to have them pick me up one if they have any good ones.

I will be using them for a trip to the Q with my 3 sons the last week of June. Have not been there yet, but Lori is very friendly and helpful on the phone. I will let you know on or about July 4 when I do a trip report.

So excited…. One more week of work to go, then off we go!

Want any map help? I’ve taken photos of all my Quetico maps and they are complete for that area of the park. I’ve also got gpx gps waypoint files if you want those. Just shoot me an email and I’ll send them.

My son had a very good experience with them on the start of the trip. He comes out next Friday June 23rd and drives home on that Saturday. They were super nice and easy to work with.

It's cool to hear about this place, and I'd definitely consider it as a night-before stop (or more) on future north entry trips. It would be great if people continued to post their experiences as they stop there.

My buddy and I stopped at Quetico Brewing last week (6/14) on our way to Atikokan. Quetico Brewing is a little microbrewery that is part of the business at Seine River Lodge and they have a little bar area in the main lodge building. There was a very pleasant young lady bartender working that day who is from Atikokan and is also a student-athlete (hockey player) at UW-Superior. The two of us were her only only customers at 2:30 in the afternoon.

Sounds like Quetico Brewing was the brainchild of one of the owners (great idea and even better name, I may add) and 2023 is their second or third year brewing beer.

They brew quite a few different types of beer, but had four or five on tap that day. My buddy and I both opted for the one they called Lily Dipper (I'm not sure what that says about us), but we found it to be a very tasty and enjoyable ale to drink. I would have tried an Amber if they had it available. Maybe next time...

They also offered t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, stocking hats, beer glasses and a plethora of other merchandise items. We each bought a beer glass to take home.

We didn't have any food - we should have at least looked at a menu, but we didn't - so I can't offer any info on that.

We'll definitely be stopping again on our next trip.

Funny! My son and his buddy said the girl that drove them in to Beaverhouse to get dropped off was a very pretty 19 year old from Atikokan who went to college somewhere. They were a little distracted, but found that to be a highlight of the trip chatting her up on the drive out!

They exit tomorrow at noon after 16 days. I’ve talked to him since he has cell coverage on Pickerel. They are definitely ready to be done and I doubt he will eat another Cliff bar for a while.

We started and ended our trip at Seine River Lodge. Very friendly, helpful folks with a nice lodge and great food and beer. The girls dropped us at the Beaverhouse entry on 6/13. We paddled to Quetico amd stayed the first night on a little island site on the lower arm about 8 miles in. Next night to Jean, on the east end. 3rd and 4th nights back to Quetico. Exited the same way we entered. Had a great trip, I'll post a report soon. Thanks for all of the great info on this site!

Two of my sons and I just left there as well. Awesome staff, great team, really great food. We showed up a little after 10 PM. They had a cabin ready for us. We launched the next day, and they were there right on time to pick up up again at Beaverhouse. They fed us that night and again in the morning, and I will be going back! Really well run operation.

And yes, many of the staff are very attractive young ladies.
