I have found that a very light-weight, cheap alternative that seems to work as well as anything are Off Mosquito Coils. Just light two or three and set on rocks around
a reasonably small area of camp. Like anything very light wind is required and only a match, no fuel. If you don't burn the whole coil, just put it out for the next time.
Has anyone else had positive luck with these or only my imagination??

I haven’t seen these in decades. Where are they sold at?

I bring them on every trip. I find them most effective in close campsites that have little wind, but then again, those are the campsites that have the most mosquitos.

Looks like Home Depot has another brand, Walmart and Amazon online.

I have been using those for years and think they work well

These were occasionally used on Wabakimi Project trips. I remember one night in light, gentle we were under the tarp and after lighting several coils the insects disappeared. As noted in earlier posts, light to no breeze would be necessary for these to work.
