Paddle Fest in Waverly, Iowa, is a one-day event of speakers and visiting for kayak and canoe folks. It was started by Vern Fish (a rabid canoe trekker) and Darrin Siefken (a kayak tripper and owner of Crawdaddy's Outdoor in Waverly). It is great for connecting with other paddlers and enjoying various presentations at the nearby Wartburg College venue.
Last year saw about 60 folks there, I think, so it is much smaller than something like Canoecopia, but a great chance to look forward to next season and meet folks. Disclaimer: I have no vested interest, but have paddled with Vern on a couple trips. https://www.crawdaddyoutdoors.com/module/class/526469/paddle-fest-2024---adult-registration
Thanks for posting. I thought it was later in January and would have missed it this year. Driving down to the Current River in the morning to ring in the New Year in a canoe. See you January 6.
