Got in a short paddle today on the WI/MN border (St Croix) - glad spring is here so early.

Pretty remarkable for Dec. 29th...glassy (liquid) water!

From the picture it's too wide to be above Stillwater. Given that he's from Afton I'm guessing it's between Afton and I-94. Looking at the maps there's a very wide spot just above Afton.

Those pics are the Afton area, but the only place there is ice remnant is Bayport. The ice went out around and north of Stillwater.

Indeed; just south of Afton's Old Village & the Marina.
