It's been several years but, we made it back there on this trip. Tough in and out didn't have a lot of luck fishing but it was just a day trip. What specifically are you wanting to know?

It is a beautiful lake. One campsite has been burned over the other one I went to was so awesome. Here are a few pics. 2nd photo is of the sweet campsite with plenty of tent pads and huge sloping bedrock into the lake. My partner and I also brushed the portage from North Cone into Davis L last summer 2023.

Curious about how scenic the lake was, lots of good options around Brule with Winchell and Cherokee being pretty enjoyable to look around and paddle about.

Also curious if anyone's caught lake trout there?

Thanks for sharing the pics. Kind of reminds of Little Gabbro/Gabbro.

I went to Davis on my very first solo trip. Portages in and out are definitely challenging, especially in the wet misty conditions I had. But I really enjoyed camping on Davis. After leaving Brule, I didn't see any people and had Davis to myself.
The link has a description of my experience on Day 3. You can also read about Day 4.

SH Curley, there was moose sign all over at the campsites on Davis when I was there last summer as well. We also were the only humans on the lake.

Was there years ago in late Sept. Stayed at the nice mid-lake site and we were going to layover for a day but during breakfast we listened to forecast of a big storm blowing in so we packed up and headed north to Long Island. That portage is a challenge...made worse by a cold, windy drizzle. Missed our chance to fish Davis but thought it was a very scenic lake.
