Looking for inexpensive cabins to rent for one night in late July and or early Aug. 8 people prior to going in to BWCA.

Which outfitters have cabins near entry Point(s) #37,38,39?
Thanks
Ben

There have been a couple of threads on this subject lately and the answer is 'none'. There are a couple of hotels nearby, but they may require a two night stay.

Thread One

Thread two

When I go up the Sawbill Trail, I stay in the Sawbill Lake Campground. There is an outfitter there (Sawbill Canoe Outfitter) . You can get your permit there. Pick up any last minute outfitter type stuff as well as rent canoes, packs, etc. You can also get a shower there at the end of your trip.

Both Baker Lake and Kawishiwi Lake entries have small (3-5 site) campgrounds at the entry points. Availability is hit or miss.

There are other FS Campgrounds as you go up the Sawbill Trail. e.g. Temperance River Campground and Crescent Lake Campground. You can find information about those on the Sawbill Outfitter website linked above.

Otherwise, I think you are driving to Grand Marais for the night and returning to the Sawbill Trail the next morning. Or maybe leaving Two Harbors very early the morning of your permit.
