OgimaaBines has it with Oyster. The picture is at the portage landing coming in from Rocky.

Same here Dee, I saw them back in October! Horrible landings from Gebe to Oyster all around. Rocky, steep dropoffs, deadfall, room for only one canoe at a time (if you want moderately safe, shallow loading areas)... not an area I'm keen on going through again any time soon :)

The last time I was in the area was 2021, so it's been a few years. The landings were awful but I wouldn't mind going back. I don't remember much of rocky and green, we were full steam ahead in white caps so I didn't see the pictos or take any pictures. Wanted to sneak a peak at pekan lake too but it wasn't worth the trouble in the wind we were facing. Did you make it over there at all?

We did not. We were also on the move with 30mph gusts - the paddle across Oyster to the Hustler portage was rough. At least we got to go pretty much straight into it, but it took us something like 35 minutes. We talked/shouted about possibly finding a spot to pull over, but there was essentially no point, it would've been just as risky as continuing on.

I was here about 5 years back. The landing on Oyster to the Oyster River was a bear because we had big waves and it's deep water to sharp boulders on that side. No fun, but a nice portage and river paddle once that's all over with.
