My name is Bryan and obviously I'm new here! Hi, Bryan! Me and my fiance are currently living in Nashville,TN (I grew up in Kentucky and went to school in Chicago) and she is from New Hampshire. We are moving to Houston in a few years, plan on staying there three years, and then moving to the Minneapolis area to purchase a home and settle down. We do not have children. Camping, canoeing and everything outdoors is so new to us but we are having fun and looking forward to all the adventures ahead of us including learning new things from you guys. What a great site! Cheers!

Hey Bryan… when you get to Houston you’ll have to check out Bryan lake campgrounds near Bryon/ College Station… camped there last year on my way home from Arizona… haha!

Anyways, welcome and I hope you find this site as resourceful as many do.

Bryan,

Absolutely no reason to wait until moving to Minneapolis to start enjoying camping, canoeing, hiking and forest bathing. Get yourself connected to the outdoors wherever you're residing. Ask for a tent for a wedding gift and consider using it on your honeymoon.

Being young and childless passes by pretty quickly. Live the life you want with urgency. Waiting is time wasted.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the warm welcome to the site! I am definitely learning a lot! We will definitely check out Bryan Lake Campgrounds! How could we move to Houston and not check that out? Definitely looking forward to some Texas adventures!

We definitely aren't young anymore but we most certainly live like we are! I just turned 41 and my fiance is 39. We plan to celebrate her big 40 back in New Hampshire this year. We are actually planning our first camping trip here in Nashville. It'll be at Long Hunter State Park in June. Just an over night stay with a 6 mile hike to camp. Something simple.

This is the first time in our lives we feel like we are actually starting to live outside of work and are so excited. We also have a second trip planned for Mammoth Cave In October. We are hoping to see some fall colors! Thanks again for the welcome!

I've been tromping around the woods of Tennessee a long time. Go to Virgin Falls one day.
Trust grey-haired men in old tie-die.

Thanks for the recommendation! Just looked Virgin Falls up and it looks like a fun trail to explore. Very scenic! I also noticed there are several campsites! I may have to add this to the list. Maybe we could go in August. Thanks for the recommendation!
