Seems to me that there are enough "Name That Lake" threads that it should have its own Categorie or Sub Forum. What say you?

This comes up every year, is it really that hard to just scroll past? I scroll past threads that I'm not interested in like politics, the Iditarod, maple tapping and skiing every week.

Sure, I could scroll through, but I think this forum would be better if it had its own sub forum. It’s a specific enough topic that comes up multiple times per week. Just an idea- no need to get bitter.

An unwritten guideline on this game is that it occupies the hardwater season. Should be done soon.

Long time hater... recent accepter.

I just haven't been to many BWCA lakes. I now enjoy the pics and looking where the poster has recently tripped.

It could be it's own forum, or not.

Then it will die the slow death that Wilderness Challenges received. That was a fun game we played in the winter. Everyone made it go into a subforum and then stopped playing. I personally don't play the name that Lake game but it doesn't need end like that.

It's not hard to scroll past, but it does push other viable threads and topics down the list and off the page at a much quicker rate. I enjoy looking at the pictures and occasionally guessing, but wouldn't mind seeing it moved to a sub-forum. At the same time, everyone's been good about killing it once the ice is out...so not a huge deal either way in my opinion

I think this has been avoided because it would make recycling old pictures nearly impossible. I know personally that when I'm guessing I haven't been to 90% of the lakes I'm guessing and I base the guess on trip reports and looking through pics on here or spaddle splanner. If you had a sub category to reference looking at posts from previous years of NTL it wouldn't be much fun.

Yes, it's an effin pita.

ps: if it was possible to at least mark all threads read, or if the board had some of the features of modern boards, it wouldn't matter.

We have a thread about the toughest portages we've taken, but scrolling past a post is too much.
