Hi folks, my second posting here, I have enjoyed reading the messages this winter. I am going to either Shell or Lynx Lake to set up camp for a few days the end of May, wondering if anyone has had any good luck fishing either of those lakes. Might spend some time in Hustler also. Walleyes are my fish of choice, but I am happy if anything bites.

1956vin,
I have been to all of the lakes you mention, but did not fish as it was a few years ago in early May before fishing opener. You will enjoy the trip and have a great time. It looks like they would hold Walleyes, Northern and Smallies but no Lakers. Don't think they are deep enough.

Are you going in Little Indian Sioux (EP 14)? If you are make sure you go to the north end of Lower Pauness to see Devils Cascade-worth the short detour. Also the river between the two Paunesses is very pretty with a rapids and small waterfall.

Be quiet as you paddle LIS and you may see Moose. Have fun and hope the fishing is good.

We went into that area last year in early June. We camped on Shell Lake. We had the campsite just southwest of the small island on a point. It was a great site. We caught plenty of smallies right off the site. We also had plenty of wildlife around as well. A Beaver right up on our shore & also got to watch a Moose & her baby across the way on the little island. We were not lucky enough to catch Walleyes, but talked to several other people that fished on the lake that caught several good Walleye. Great campsites on the big Island as well.
Bogwalker is right about Devils Cascade. It is a must see if you are in the area & going into EP #14.
Good Luck with your fishing! We are heading iinto Mudro Lake this year.
