This year I took some dried 3 cheese tortilleni and it was great! It took about 20 minutes to prepare and when combined with dired tomato sauce or butter and Garlic (what I used) it is almost a meal in itself! Although I did have foil packed chicken with it one night! It is avaiable at most markets, and it relatively cheap. A bag I bought when I got home was $1.50 and fed 4 people easy! Try it if you get the chance... It was better than the pasta side dishes I had been taking before! Just a little bit longer to prepare!

Good Paddling, Great Fishing, and God Bless All...
What a great idea! I'll have to give it a try on my next trip- we cook over a fire so time is not a huge issue most days. All these pasta ideas are making me hungry!
Here is a little tip I learned about 8 years ago. If you soak pasta and rice dishes in water during the day while out exploring or fishing they will soften and cook faster (i.e less fuel, less wood) when you are ready to eat.
All you need is a pot with a lid to keep the critters out of it.
Bruce-
I tried out your idea and it got a resounding 14 thumbs up from our group this week! We used dried alfredo mix and chopped sundried tomatos, and a pouch of chicken- it was amazing. Very decadent...thanks for the tip.
