Hello. This isn't so much in regards to a recipe, but it has to do with candy so I figured I'd give it a shot here...

Back in the day when I was a kid, my father and brother and I would take yearly trips to fish Crane Lake/Sand Point/Vermillion. One of my fond memories was this caramel we would get in a red package..I think it also had yellow on it, and I believe they spelled it Karmel.

It was the bomb, but we could never find here in Iowa so we always had to eat as much as possible while we were up there. If I can recall correctly it came in a pretty large rectangle about 3x5 inches or so?

Anyway, is it still around up in the Orr/Ely/Nothern Minnesotta area, and if so and someone has some, is there a phone number to order some? My bro's bday is coming up and he would get a kick out of it.

Thanks!!

I believe you are thinking of MacIntosh toffee. It might be made in Canada...it's great stuff! I managed to find some at a Super One grocery store last winter, for the first time since I was a kid.
