We will be on Snowbank in Late July. I know the trout run DEEP then. Once the fish are located, people seem to get the best results still fishing frozen ciscoes at that time; right? What is the technique for this? Do you anchor the boat or drift? How do you rig the cisco? Any other suggestions for taking the lakers in late July?
To me lake trouts are the hardest fish to find...I accidentally caught 1 lake trout in my whole life time. I would like to know how to find them also. But on Snowbank if you're not having any luck catching trouts, go for smallies cus they go on a feeding frenzy around that time.
Where are you finding the best smallie action on Snowbank in late July? They don't seem to be on the shorelines then. How deep are they & where? Thanks!
They should be around 10 feet of water, but snowbank is very deep so 10 feet should be several yards off shore. Last time we went there around mid to late july the water was so clear that you could see where there's fish in 10 feet of water. We caught numerous smallies right at the entry point parking lot.
