Largemouth on Clark Lake, just south of Crab Lake.

Only lake in that area known to have largemouth bass.

I was camping inthe northwest corner of ensign lake about 4 years ago and cuaght some really nice largemouth on a skitterpop.A few were in the 17 inch range and the biggest was 20, that fish had to be close to 6 pounds. The outfitter we used almost didn't beleive us but i have the pictures to prove it. hope this helps.

sorry i took so long to respound yink but i was in the big Q last week. I would love to post the picture of that largemouth but i'm not sure how, if someone could tell me i would be more than happy to post it.
most of those largemouth that i caught were in a bay on ensign. if you go north when you get into the lake and then go into the long narrow bay that goes east and fish the southern side you will be where i landed the big one.you will now your in the right area becuase it looks like perfect largemouth teritory.
By the way, that 20 incher I caught 4 years ago was released and might be a state record by now.
goood luck!!!!!

We caught some very nice Largemouth in Disappointment this last week. Probably a dozen or more... Two biggest were around 3 lbs, four others around two, pounds and a abunch of little half-pound to a pound. Mostly on gitzits and flukes. They were located just after you come through the portage from Snowbank to Disappointment to the left, as you look there is a long shallow canal between the bank and a large island. There is a bunch of downed trees in the water, they were located on the trees. We turned them all loose so they are still there. Caught a good smallie on further up the canal around some rocks out in the middle of the canal. I am going to put a trip report in shortly, and pictures. Just got back from eight days in from the 21 to the 28th.

did they fix the portage to disappointment from snowbank...last time the portage was under contruction so we had to take the portage to parent and then to disppointment. When my crew and i was up there, it took us forever to locate the portage. There was another crew fixing up the portage, so i was just wondering if its been fixed.

There was no problem with the portage when we came through last Saturday, it was in good shape.
