I had something new the last time out, my friend from wyoming filleted a couple of northern and just cooked the meat in a pan with some butter. then he crumbled it into some tuna helper. i can't remember what flavor he used but it actually tasted pretty good. i think on long trips, this is something i would probably do again, it was kinda a nice change from fried fish.
