in the last week of June two years ago, we caiught several walleye and smallmouth in the little lake after the first portage coming out of Lake Four going to Hudson. Fish the rapids where it runs from the lake above. There is a channel on the right side that holds fish. Depth finder helped me find it. Fished it with Gitzits and caught Smallies, caught walleye and smallies on leeches. Hung a huge smallmouth (5lbs +)in the rocks on the left side of that channel just off the edge of flowing water, and some good walleye where the channel drops off into the main lake. Another good spot for walleye is where Insula runs into Hudson. There is a deep hole (about 14 ft I think) where the rapids end. It has some boulders on the side. Directly to the right of where the portage is. Lindy rigged leeches worked real well there. There were some real good fish there at that time we caught several in the 4 to 5 pound range. I will be going through there on the 21st of June, I will probably be stopping and seeing if I can catch a couple of smaller ones for dinner... So leave a few if you get to try it... Good luck, Good paddling, and God bless
Good Paddling, Great Fishing, and God Bless All...
