It looks very easy, but I decided not to 'go there' because it is cost prohibitive (for me). If I make a tarp, I'll just want to make a tent and pack and so on. It's about $$$.

I take it back. I saw a second video and it looked like more than I want to get into. If you go to youtube, and search on "cuben fiber tarp", you'll see a 40 minute video on constructing such a tarp. It looks like an incredible material, but it's expensive and it looks like it takes some skill to work with it.

Yeah. I think I saw that same video. You have to work slowly and carefully to make sure you get smooth seams.
