I'm looking for a source for buying indivdual packets of jelly and peanut butter...

The last trip to the BWCA we had them in our foodpack for lunches...they were really good for a quick lunch because you could just squeeze them directly onto bread or crackers and didn't need a knife to spread it out.

I would appreiciate any leads. We will be tripping into Mudro on 6-25 and out on 7-02.

Thanks and have a good one!!

Some internet searching turned up these sources:

http://www.aa-foods.com/index.cfm
http://www.scoutgear.com/funfood.html

Looks like you pay for the convenience.

Woodpecker,
What I take is the squeeze bottles of peanut butter and the squeeze jam either grape or strawberry, therefore no knives or utensils needed. We put the peanut butter on pita, tortillas, or bagels. We use the jam for the same, and use the strawberry particularly for pancakes... very good!!!! Sklippy makes the squeeze peanut butter, and several companies make the jam...

Hey guys,
thanks for the quick responses..... you must be sitting at home and waiting for it to quit raining too? it's been raining for almost a week now.....we've had about 6" so far....

Yeah, it does look spendy....I've done some surfing also and found these re-useable tubes
from EverestGear.com

they hold about 6 oz. and the fact that they are re-useable sounds good...

They run about $2.59/2pk.--- alot cheaper than the foil packets listed in the above sites...I might try these. Has anyone else used them?? Later.. Woodpecker

You can buy Peanut butter and Jelly from the store in squeeze bottles. No need to buy something else to transfer the PB into. I tried that got as much on me as in. Or maybe I am just not very coordinated. I just bought the skippy brand and it worked great around home. I will test in about 450 hours.

I tried the squeeze tubes... once. They are a mess to load, and the closure is not very secure. For PB&J I would go with the store bought squeeze bottles.

Don't you have to keep the jelly chilled? Or doesn't it spoil?

Jelly will spoil, but I have found it will keep several days if kept out of the sun and cool.
An idea, depending on how much you will go through take two if it will be a long trip and keep one sealed until needed.
I recently took Mayo in a plastic jar. I kept it sealed, like off the shelf and opened it for tuna and egg salad late in the trip. Worked great. I kept it for the day and used it, then did not use it again. I felt 1 day at room temp would be enough. It may last longer depending on tempatures.

I collect sugar, salt, pepper, mayo, tartar sauce, jam, peanut butter, butter, honey, creamer, hot sauce, catsup, mustard, ect. from any restaurants I go to.
And for coffee I bring folgers singles, they are similar to a tea bag.
