I own several different tents, depending on the situation. But my primary solo tripping tent is a North Face "Tadpole 23". When using a hammock, a Hennessy Expedition Asym Classic. If I went strictly with a hammock "sleep system", I could really use a Hennessy Explorer Deluxe Zip.

you don't need fancy or expensive equipment
Eureka 2 man tent that I got at Galyans for 99 bucks, very popular design, I think it's called Alpine, but then again maybe not, I'm not a gear head so once I buy it and it works i tend to forget what it's called other than "tent"
$20 hammock bought at WalMart about 15 years ago, I haven't seen the same kind for about 10 years, wish I had bought another
