I'm almost 2 months from my first solo. I changed my plans and am going in on Fall Lake instead of Lake One. Easy portages and I was there last year. We never really explored Pipestone Bay where I want to stay.
Since I got a new pack for Christmas, I practiced packing yesterday and tried out my new Flex light chair. All my gear fits without putting anything outside the pack.
I just need to practice hanging a pack and I'm am ready to go. When I go with my brother he hangs the food pack.
I am getting excited and nervous.

You go jeepgirl! :-)
You might want to check out some of the replies in the Listening Point-General Information Forum. "pswith5" recently started a subject asking for solo advice. Some of the feedback there may be helpful to you.
Have a fun and safe trip jeepgirl.

thats for sure. if for some reason you end up not liking solo dont say never again. for me the second time was the charm. have a great trip and travel the portages carefully.

It will be a different experience going solo. You have to think about what you are doing a bit more. And as I said on the pswith5 thread you do everything. So you have to allow for a bit of extra time in camp. Be careful and have fun.
Watch out for that rock!!!........ Oooo.... That's going to leave a mark...

Preparation builds confidence and reduces the unexpected. The pswith5 thread does have some good advice, but from what I gather you got things pretty well in hand. With no one to interrupt your visit with mother nature you will likely have a better visit. Enjoy.
