In reading Cheezewhiz's post about the Losi I seen that a garage is available for the Losi 2 and 3 . Has anybody tried it and is it worth the money?

I have a Nemo Asashi with the garage and it is awesome. I used the setup this past spring when it was down to 29° and it kept the tent much warmer by diverting the wind (I didn't have it the first night and I noticed a huge difference the second night at the same temp). It may have the opposite effect when it is warmer. If bugs aren't bad you can use it for sleeping in. If it is raining you can put some chairs in it. I have a folding aluminum slat table that works well in it. It is nice having a place to store things while you are out and about during the day and also at night. I wish it was an option for all tents.

I just saw that as well, I have used the one on my Asashi a bunch of times, works great, 2 if not 3 people could sit in camp chairs under it no prob, my guess is the smaller Losi unit would be 2 for sure. It can make for a harder entry if you have stiff joints in the morning, I know my father (62) didn't care for exiting the tent with it on, with a normal door he could roll and get up straight away just outside the tent door, but with the garage you kind of have to hunker down a bit like your in the tent, a bit tunnel like. Me and my friends love it, can stash the packs under there, I have the footprint for it so it makes it really usable, we have left the tarp at home many times when we bring this, free standing for the most part and faster to set up, no trees needed, offers very good protection from the wind and rain, also you can rig a nice little cloths line for those wet socks, though they did not have loops built in (they should) so you have to add your own. I like the door on the larger Asahsi Garage better than the Losi, but its a smaller lighter tent so its to be expected.

Overall I like the option, not sure its worth $150, but you can use code SUMMER820 on their site right now and get 20% off, still a bit much for me.

That looks nice. I'm starting to wonder if I will ever be done buying accessories for this tent.

At least the Losi has a few less options than the Asashi, I have 2 Asashis, footprints for both, Pawprints for both, Garage, garage footprint, linking section, footprint for the link, gear lofts, gear caddy.... it just never ends.....

2 Asashis connected with the linking section and 2 garages on each end must be quite the monster!

I'm curious how many carry these extra accessories in. I think I'd be willing to do the footprint and pawprint but I'd be on the fence with the garage. How much does that add?

Asashi only has one door, so no mega tent lol But you can make a Moki go forever if you wanted.

The Asashi garage only weighs a bit more than the stock vestibule, I zip that off and bring only the garage, net increase is pretty minimal but its not a super light tent to begin with so if its coming I'm not normally concerned with weight.

The 3p/2p garage adds 2 pounds of weight. Since the 3p has two doors, I could easily see using this out the "back" to store packs and use for extra room in case of bad weather... leaves the "front" door free to enter/exit without crawling the tunnel.

That said, not gonna drop $150 on it. I'd love to see it in person though and maybe it will turn up at deep discount somewhere.

A few more shots.. I am a die hard NEMO fan. They produce some of the best gear in the business. If you have a LOSI or a tent in their series that has an optional garage, I would highly recommend it. The LOSI 3p garage is very light. Stores ALL of my gear + the dog sleeps there, freeing up space in the main tent.

I agree, I have been and still am the unofficial Nemo shill around here. I try to like other stuff but I'm always coming back to them as they do a wonderful job of offering hitech comfort options. I think their offerings are some of the very best for canoe camping. I have 3 of their tents, couple of sleeping bags and pads, couple of screen tarps and more than a few accessories. Been very happy with all of it. I did end up selling my Obi 2P in favor of BA Copper spur 2. Likes the design of the Obi but the length was a tad short for me, toes hit the wall which bugged me.
