My wife will need some boots later this year and I thought I'd ask the ladies here what they wear for wet footing. Open to suggestions. Thanks!

Merrell Moab Ventilator mids. Hands down for me. Best traction on wet or dry surfaces, great support for a long day carrying a good amount of weight, and great ventilation.

My wife wears wetsuit boots with a fairly good sole. Maybe something like this one from NRS or maybe this one . But I think her main pair is a different brand. She also wears something like this for sailing but keeps her BWCA pair for just the BWCA so she doesn't wear them out.

Trail runners with wool socks. The pair I wore last year were (or is that 'was'?) Salomon XA 3D Ultra 2's. They were lightweight, comfortable (they were 2 years old), and the mesh let excess water out so they dried quickly. These and a pair of Keen H2's for backup/camp shoes let me make it through 5 days comfortably. If you need ankle support, you'll have to look for something higher. Wool socks are key though.

I've used Chota Quetico Trekkers for a number of years. In the summer I use liners with merino wool socks, and knee high neoprene socks in cold weather in the fall. I like the ankle support, grip on wet rocks and the fact they drain well and dry quickly. Around camp I use a Columbia water shoe which is like a low hiker. They are very old, so are probably not made anymore.

Lowa Lady Light GTX boots. Expensive but worth it. My wife gets terrible blisters with everything she wears, but not her new Lowa boots. They worked fantastic for her, and were very waterproof through several days of rain. I just noticed your wet-footingnote. I can't speak to how well they dry back out from a total soaking as we don't wet-foot it, we are very strategic in our landings to ,minimize stepping in water deeper than our boots.
