Hello, I'll be in Lady Boot Bay in early June. I'll be hunting Smallmouth mostly. I was wondering if anybody had any tips for where to fish and with what? I also plan on fishing Arch,Toe, and Wabang.Any information on these lakes ???

If you'd like to have some info on Lady Boot Bay and smallies (my favorite fish to catch) you are welcome to call and talk to my hubby, John.

He is great at placing people at just the right spots for fishing.

Are you going in at Moose River?

How is the fishing in this area? Is the Lady Boot Bay better than the smaller, side lakes or is it the opposite? Has anybody had great luck? Is there any Lake Trout? We will be in the area for ten days and are very flexible. We will go up EP16.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

We've done well on smallies along the shores just west of fish stake narrows in late May and early June. We went into Toe a few years back and did alright on walleyes. We usually troll a spinner and leech combo, but I'm sure casting minnow imitating crankbaits toward the rumbly shores will score the smallies in that area to.

I have been there myself one or two times and John has been there several times.

Tiger Bay has some beautiful campsites and some excellent walleye fishing.

But for over near Lady Boot & those small lakes, John has more fishing knowledge.

He doesn't "do" computers, but you could call our office & talk to him.

We are very flexible on which lakes we go. We have 8 days so we can go where ever whenever to find the fishing spots. What does he use to catch walleyes?

All advise is greatly appreciated

Nightcrawlers work well at that time. And if you stop at Zup's Resort, you can buy Canadian leeches (legal for Quetico, unlike the U.S. leeches) and those will work real well.

For what it's worth, last year our outfitter told us there has been a bear raiding campsites from the north part of Oyster Lake up into Lady Boot Bay for the last several years. He drew a circle between them and told us to avoid using the campsites just in that area. Think I have heard about Oyster in the past also. Hope this helps you.
