I need a little help figuring this out....

We (4 men) will be up on Crooked in early June, and would like to take a full day trip into the Quetico. We are entering through Mudro EP22.

Can anyone simplify what we would need to legally travel into the Q for the day?

RABC to cross the border into Canada---passport to cross back into the U.S. Do this when you go back to Ely at the customs station near the wolf center.

Quetico day pass for each day you enter the Q or get a summer Ontario Parks pass for vehicles they will let you put one on a canoe. As far as I know day passes are 10-12 bucks group, year pass is around $100. The advantage of the year long pass is you don't need to go to a station to get one.

Ontario fishing license

Ontario outdoors card

MN fishing license.

BWCAW permit

If you don't fish take out the outdoors card and licenses.

I don't think you can camp in Canada. So you will need to return to your bwca camp each night.

Where does the Day Pass need to be picked up? Prairie Portage, or the like?
or can it be picked up in the Ely somewhere?

I'm pretty sure you can pick one up at Prairie Portage.

Since we will be entering through Mudro, I was hoping that I could either get it ahead of time, or that we could pick it up somewhere in Ely.
Is it possible to pick up a Day Pass in Ely or ahead of time?

That's the major hurdle is getting the day pass a head of time. As far as I know you have to get it a ranger station--which is fine if you are entering near one--but in your case that makes it really tough--- but why not call the park and ask if they can mail you one?
