Anderson's does both in Crane Lake.

I second Anderson's. ALways treated me well.

The west end is an expensive entry after you pay for the tow both ways, the last few times I have been in that way it was sparsely used most lakes I had to myself--I think becuase of the cost.

Of course then I got to Burt Lake and there were liek 5 groups on it...go figure :)

Is the tow a long distance ? Must be as that tow would cost $1050 for a group of 6 one way. OUCH. That out of the question. Won't happen. Go many other places much cheaper.

Posts like that will insure you against advice.

Hilarious.... Now ya know why Conmee is full of big walleyes :)

I think OS was a little taken a back becuase it is hard to believe you would have a trip planned to Conmee with an entry point already picked out and not know about tows.

They aren't necessary... You could just paddle for three days to entry point 43, of course stop at the Indian Reservation first to get your permits... Then another 2 days hard paddle to Conmee fish for a day, then another 3-4 days out---there's your 9-10 day trip with a few hours fishing on Conmee ;) now ya can see why people take tows maybe.

In all seriousness you can take a rough road all the way to the Reservation Ranger Station, park and take off from there. It is still 2 very long days to Conmee-- more likely 3 days and that's if the weather cooperates...Lac La Croix is a big lake and can get dangerous quick.

Anyway good luck.

Tim, you're part right. He asked about tow recommendations. I was taken aback that the advice was so quickly and easily dismissed. Not sure how he was figuring to get to #43. Helicopter drop?

Helicopter drops were banned after the great '08 Conmee walleye slaughter. Can't believe you forgot that.

Please go many other places much cheaper. Easy & cheap are virtues to be pursued...

That was so yesterday... ;)

Actually, they could fly in to Poohbah with the native guides. Then its only 3 portages to Conmee. Unfortunately, that would probably cost more than the tow. Plus, they would have to convince guides to carry their junk across those 3 portages.
