Enjoyed it very much. Pretty agressive trip itinerary. Definitely can see the difference in forest compared to Quetico. And moose! Too bad about your fight with the hornet. could have been worse I guess. Thanks for the write up and pics.

Wow,that wasp incident was crazy. I never saw anything like it. It came a long ways just to nail Magic. The way them two went at it you'd think hr was wrestling a bear. The moose were incredible. On that portage I "hid" under my canoe... That storm came fast. Only shelter I could think of. I actually felt current from a lightning strike. I thought I was going to find Lawrence all fried... Like blackened with smoke coming from his head. He pulled up and made shelter just as it quit. Crazy storms this trip. Learned to say screw it to rain gear half the time. Our clothes dry so fast anyway.

Good report and nice pictures. Rain is one thing but humidity gets to me.
I once lost a walking stick too. It was when I went back through customs he saw it and said it was firewood, even though I had it carved up.

You can bring wood through customs if it is dead and there is no bark on it. They sometimes need to check with their supervisor. They have let me bring 2 walking sticks and repairs clued to a seat back. They knew all were picked up in the woods.
