just spent a while dialing in my wbbb xlc, i got last year, with my new kaq jarbidge uq, with 2qz2 uq protector, i got a couple years ago.
the new dutch clip hooks and wasp line hookup's work great with my continuous tarp line set-up.
in the cold garage i felt the warmth of the uq.
i did get a pad for my feet, which works well.
it's about 30 here today.should sleep in the garage tonight, but i love my myessentia organic memory foam bed as well.
come on may 20th.

I wish I had garage space to hang my gear. Too much junk. Oh well.
Since it is quiet I will report no recent hanging, but strong thoughts on upgrading my warbonnet with a bridge system. The shoulders do not like to be pinched, especially after a day of paddling. The rather rigid pad had helped, but too bulky and was replaced with a great HG UQ. I have a willing son who will take my current system with no complaints, he still hangs in the original Hammock Bliss system I started with. And that's my news on hanging for now.

Des Moines, I was paddling the river yesterday and ran into a release from the dam, tough paddling upstream but stayed with it. I was rewarded with a small group of hooded mergansers. One female was diving near a strainer and seemed to have success. My travel was slow so they let me get close, no photo op due to current. Eagles are a common sight so not generally mentioned, but they do give a good show. Only a little ice remained along the shorelines.

We just completed the second annual Frosty Butt Hang at Merchants Millpond State Park in northeastern North Carolina.
Had we hung last weekend, we would have had two inches of wet snow. Instead, this weekend twelve hangers enjoyed a comfortable 60 degrees during the day and a mild 48 degrees at night.
Still, it was good to get out.

I followed the Decorah Eagle webcam for a few years. Cool stuff. I saw a baldy last fall in the Chicago western suburb of Lisle last November. Sightings are extremely rare around my parts.
As for my hanging, I still am not comfortable soloing with my dog and bringing the Warbonnet. I've toyed with getting her a small "doggy tent" so she can sleep under me but for now we sleep inside a 2 man tent. Not as much fun or comfort at all.

TomT - Nope, no sign of Shug. I think he was at the Blackhawks game in Minneapolis.
Bhouse -- We did some hiking but, though it was tempting, we did not go looking for gators. That will happen next month.
Here's a pic from last spring:

I have straps on the posts of my deck with 2 beaners to snap in the hammock. I've had a couple nice naps this winter to test some outdoor setups.
Need a better job to buy a good UQ. I decided it must be down, and full length. I also decided that what I have already is "good enough " so I won't do an incremental upgrade.
Trying to figure out how to justify sleeping in a hammock while my lovely wife sleeps in a tent with 2 toddlers. If I am clever, I will figure out how to get HER to insist I sleep in the hammock... Perhaps if I forget to use the C-pap a few nights and remind her I snore....
