taking an Exped travel hammock this year for relaxing only; mostly for wife. Haven't taken the leap into sleep systems yet.
Have been reading up and seems the woopie is the best for light weight and adjustable? Just wanting to ensure I make the best purchase second time around and still trying to figure out how to make it all work and not be a bunch of extra weight.
I purchased a slap strap kit originally and have decided this may not be the best b.c. of length, or lack of so looking for options.

Just my opinion here but you should sell or give away your slap straps. There are made from nylon, super stretchy and you will have to readjust your suspension.
Get polyester tree straps and make a loop for a marlin spike, look it up, very easy to tie. It's just a loop that you insert a stick, dowel or old tent stake. Go to any fabric store and buy enough to make two 12 foot straps. You can now hang just about anywhere with this size setup.
To answer your question, yes get whoopie slings. They make hammock adjustments so fast. Remove any of the old clips or rings on your hammock and tie one end of the sling to the hammock. Get the ones made with Amsteel, 10 times stronger than rope of the same size. Just slip the whoopie sling around the Marlin spike, done.

thank you, that's what i needed to convince me! Wasn't sure, but been watching videos and reading all weekend, just wanted to be sure of what combo to use.
6' Whoopie sling and 9-12' of polyester strap should cover all needs on this trip.
Being on the Large side and hoping to use at least once on the trip, that whoopie looks awfully small for me, but I won't come close to the ratings.

quote jcavenagh: "Yeah, that Amsteel is really strong for its weight.
Take it easy and enjoy your hammie time!"
your not kidding on the size! Being a BIG guy, I'm going to put this stuff to the test. Just got everything in mail, purchased from whoopiesling.com, and will say that Stuart and his staff shipped quickly and did everything I ask.
Will be a few days before I get a chance to set back up as weather isn't hanging weather at all.
