Tough to get a good pic when your by yourself. I have a pic of a 7lb walleye which I handheld with one hand and shot the pic with the other......it looked winky and was very disappointing as far as keeping the memory alive.
What I ended up doing was getting a "ball and socket" system to mount the camera. I put a "Ram" ball on the thwart in front of me (solo boat) and then mounted the camera on another "ball" (complete with threaded mount for camera........in between is a foot long "selfie" stick.
The idea is to clamp the ball and socket system only tight enough to prevent it from flopping down. Set the self timer on the camera, push the selfie stick/camera away from yourself and hold the fish.
About the only way I can think of to get a decent picture. What did you get the fattee on?

Doesn't look like he is solo to me. If you look at the picture it appears someone was sitting in the bow. Not sure why he didn't have the bow man take the pic? For my solo trips I just mount an ultra pod on the yoke. Catch a fish, turn on camera, hit self timer, take pic, release fish. Nice catch BTW, congrats to you!
