At the Fall wingnight campout, we talked about having a wingnight and presenting the paddle in Jan's honor to his wife Theresa. I have talked to Theresa, and we agreed to have the wingnight on Friday the 28th of October. It will be held at Buffalo Wild Wings in Lakeville. The time is yet to be determined, but we are looking at around 6:00 PM meeting up. If anyone wants to get there earlier to reserve some tables, that would be great. The place can get busy on a Friday night. I am sure Theresa would enjoy seeing all of you. Hope to see you there and join us in a toast.

I'd be all over this, except for reservations in Gatlinburg, The Blue Ridge MTs, and Disney World. Raise a toast from me, and convey best wishes.

I'll be there for a little while.
The hood has its annual Halloween party that night. It goes late so I can be too.

I should be there. No worky friday, late start Saturday. Perfect. Hey inspector, if you change your mind and decide to winterize later, give me a shout. Maybe we can carpool.
Without the bad times, the good times wouldn't seem so good.

It's off-topic but the Blue Ridge and Smokies are magical, beautiful places. Gatlinburg a seemed to remind me of that Cash song, Boy Named Sue with the father-son brawl in the street! What an interesting place. You won't be far from Dolly World on that route :)

I’ve got to do it this coming weekend Pete because my hours are changing and I can’t take any more time off until the new person that’s starting is trained in. If she is a fast learner that means Thanksgiving.

I could be there earlier. This is the one off 185th St correct? Do you think 5:30 is soon enough to reserve something?

I don't think any pictures were taken. ? I thought Theresa seemed to be holding up well. She got a little emotional when we gave her the paddle. She brought a paddle that we believe Jan had gotten signed at a wingnite at there house. Good group. Nice visitting.

Nice! Glad Trix made this happen. Living far away has it's disadvantages. That was one I didn't want to miss. I had to be home for my contractor friend to go over things. After it got to late to come down he cancelled on me. My life story...

I didn't get there until 7:00 and Theresa had just left. She has dogs at home. I understand she had recently visited their daughter who lives outstate. Their son does not live in the area either so that must be hard being alone without Jan.
This was at the Buffalo Wild Wings where kanoes always was at the mini Wingnights over the years. As I walked up to the door I could always look in the windows and see the group and Jan would be laughing and having fun in his weathered BWCA.com hat. It was sad realizing that he was not in there and never will be again.
It was great to see people at this event to honor kanoes and Theresa. Thanks Trix for organizing it and thanks to everyone that attended both physically and in thought.

I never made it to one, but that's the image I always had when I read posts about them... I'm sure Jan was pleased. What a great idea and thoughtful gesture.
