I won't lie, I laughed a little reading this because it sounds ridiculous. I'm glad they stopped and helped out though! Hopefully not too many other animals had this problem...

Likely bedded down and conditions just happened to be right to not only cover her face, but with a snow that stuck and froze hard. Just think of her oh crap moment when she couldn't shake it off. Just surviving in those conditions a person can't imagine. Nice work on those guys part. I'm guessing it wasn't as easy as the article suggests.
