Dennis Albrecht passed away yesterday from a long battle with prostate cancer. I had become good friends with him over the last few years. Took him out to lunch when he retired and paddled together on the Kishwaukee River. He will be missed greatly. Paddle on my brother.

Wow... terrible news. My deepest condolences to Dennis's family.

quote jcavenagh: "Condolences to his family.
He now paddles where the water is always smooth, the sun always shines, and the wind is always at your back."
I love that, jcavenagh, I'll have to remember that. Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends.

I told Dennis' son-in-law I was posting the information here. He forwarded on this information to me.
Dennis's wife Denise said she had a dream about him the night after he passed. She said he was paddling "into the sunset " as happy as he could be. Thought that was fitting, and it brought her comfort. Dennis will be missed around here, and anywhere he went.

It's always hard to lose one of our "family", even if you have never meet them. My prayers and thoughts go out to Dennis's family and friends. FRED
Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fourtune to remember the ones do, and the eyesight to tell the differance.

Thank you all for the kind words regarding my Dad. I live in Madison and always went to Canoecopia with him. He aways wore his BWCA.com shirt and loved spotting other members wearing their gear too at the show. I lOVED going with him and will keep attending because it's a great show and great memories with him. Thank you.
