My wife and I finally found a free weekend on both our calendars, booked a hotel in Grand Marais Nov. 10-11 with a plan to do some hiking on the Superior Trail. Now I realize it's deer rifle season and much of the trail may be closed. Any idea about things to do mid-November in the Grand Marais area? Thanks!

Eagle mountain. If you drive up the Trail Honeymoon Bluff on Hungry Jack is nice hike. The lodge at Hungry Jack is a good stop for Lunch. Not sure that they are open then, might want to check.

1) Hike the Pincushion Mountain ski, hike, and bike trails a couple miles up the Gunflint Trail from Grand Marais. The trail head and parking lot is also the overlook of town.
2) See the Devil’s Kettle Falls in Judge C. R. Magney State Park.
3) Check out Grand Portage National Monument (closed Sunday) and hike the Mount Rose Trail.
4) Check out High Falls in Grand Portage State Park.

Hunt a deer or spend time with his dear? :)

Yep, and you can look over the edge of the cliff at the old dump up there.
We were up there from 10/21 thru 10/24. A lot of the stuff is closed for the season, the donut shop for one, also the Angry Trout and numerous other eateries.
