I am debating between an annual pass, getting daily passes, or getting a permit to enter and camp in the Quetico for my upcoming trip. I am taking the tow in (sounds fun!) and will be stopping at the Lac LaCroix Ranger station. The permit is available the day after I am entering the BWCA. I would have to stay in the BWCA one night before my trip. That being said, would I have to wait at the ranger station until 2:00 in the afternoon to pick up my permit, or would the ranger give me the permit when my group gets there in the morning with our tow in? Thanks for any guidance you can offer in helping me make this decision!
I am confused. Since you are taking the tow, why delay your entry to Canada for another day? Others may have the direct answer to your specific question but I am very curious about your plan.
Call the Q office. They have been very accommodating of special requests and might help you pick it up earlier than 2:00 at ranger, or offer other options.
