It's our first time so you'll probably win.

One of my favorite areas as well. If you can do a loop on the inner edge of LLC through some of those smaller inner lakes, it's beautiful!!! That's the only area I've ever seen wolves in the BWCA. They're like ghosts though.

I'll be going up there Labor Day weekend. Looks like it'll be a race to get a campsite!

quote snakecharmer: "Hands down my favorite area of the BW. It really does have it all. But...it can be, and usually is, busy. Your September timeframe should help a great deal with that. Daytrip opportunities abound. And after hitting all the must see sites, there are still plenty of nooks and crannies to poke around in. Enjoy!"
+1 one of our favorites. Don't miss the pictographs in Irving island

Will you be going on Labor Day weekend? My group are doing the same trip that weekend.

I've stayed at campsite 173. It is very nice (average 4 stars). Nice views and we caught walleye right off the rock by the fire pit in the evening. Lighted slip bobber and catch them after the sun goes down.

We made it from that entry to LLC in a day and were rather spent by the time we got there. Be prepared for a number of beaver dams along the way that may require pullover and you may have to walk your canoe for part of the river, depending on water levels. Be sure to check out "Top of the World" view point along the way if you have time. The Boulder bay campsites on LLC are worth checking out. We stayed at the one closest to Tiger Bay and it was awesome.

This is our route for July. You can make LLC / Tiger Bay on the first day if you get an early start. Great base camp for sightseeing...Warrior Hill, pictos, Iron Lake.

My friends and I are taking our fourth trip this September. We've not yet been to the Ely side of things, so we are thinking of entering at EP16, up moose river to Moose and Agnes, and eventually base camping for a few days on La Croix. Would love any thoughts on this trip at this time. Thanks in advance.
