The two on the west side were burned, but the other two were not. I have considered staying at the north one on the east side. I'd consider it average. That's site 1017 on the maps here.

I paddled through there twice on my August solo three years ago and remember the same things as what has already been said. On entry day both sites were taken when I passed through on my way to Malberg. On my 2nd to last day one site was occupied and I checked out the other while having lunch with the possibility of staying. I decided to move on to Kawishiwi for my last night and I luckily found an open site there.

We paddled through the last two summers. It's still pretty rough. No tree cover and just two sites open. Didn't see anyone camping on either site.

Both of these photos are taken from the portage landing heading towards Polly. I believe one of the open campsites is to the left of the portage landing but we never explored the lake, just paddled through. The whole lake looks like these photos.

We passed through that area last September. The sites are pretty beaten up following the burn. If you're a hanger of bear bags, you're going to have slim pickins' (and not much shade).

Paddled through in 2015. I believe there are only 2 sites still open...east and SE. I thought it looked pretty rough then, but a couple years can change that. There were people staying at the sites and others out fishing, but that's not uncommon for a lake close to an entry point offering easy access.

Anyone stayed on Kawasachong in the past year or two? Since the fire? Looking to see how the campsites are, is it pretty grown up yet, and any fishing reports?
