A good way to do it to kind of see what it's about. Car camping with excursions into the BWCA. The campground will charge a daily fee. You enter the BWCA you will need a daily permit. However, these are free. It is a little card you fill out at the entry point. One copy goes in the box and the other you keep with you to show the ranger if you are stopped. Also note that Way of the Wilderness Outfitter is right there, too. They have a little store and a resturant. It is a nice set up. Have a great time! |

And those are 16 dollars per person with a 10 dollar reservation fee. |

04/26/2018 10:36AM I one time left the the BWCA from Seagull and took off on the portage trail to the parking lot near the Trails-end campground. By mistake I ended up on a trail from a Trails-end campsite that lead to the water. I was quite embarrassed when I walked into a camp with a canoe on my shoulders where a middle-aged couple was making coffee and breakfast. I profusely apologized about my mistake and tried to turn around but the couple asked me to stay for breakfast which I accepted. We talked for an hour or so at their picnic table and I enjoyed some fresh coffee and a danish. Looking back it seems like a dream but it really happened and brings back the best of memories. Tom |

04/26/2018 09:48AM There is one piece of information that has not been shared here. It is not clear from your first post if you are going to be staying at the Trail End Campground for the entire time of if you are also going to camp in the BCWAW by entering at the Seagull access point. If the former is the case and you will just be doing day trips on Seagull you do not need to reserve a permit for the wilderness in advance. You can get self issued permits for day trips from a kiosk at the entry point. In that case you would only need to reserve a campsite at the Trails End Campground in advance. On the other hand, if you plan to enter the wilderness for an overnight trip you will need to reserve a permit for that in advance. |
