06/27/2018 09:25PMjdddl8: "I found the left side of the falls going down better at least in pouring rain. " The left side going down (or the south side) is where the portage is located. |

06/27/2018 08:21PM I loved the McEwen creek. Very peaceful through there. And yes, hope for no rain the day you portage into Agnes from Louisa. It's steep and slick if wet. |

06/27/2018 03:17PM did them late last August. I dont think water levels have a big affect aside from super high spring levels......so you should be good. We did Louisa to Mac. Some of them are a little obscure, but are found easily with a touch of searching, like the Arp, Star ones. In the other thread when Sedges mentions the "wrong step" portage, I believe that is the one between Dumas and Fauquier. You place one foot in front of the other on a 4 inch ledge along a 45 degree rock face that slides down into a creek.......tread lightly my friend. Somewhere along that route we lined loaded canoes down a rock stream also.....cant recall where. Kip has it on Youtube....see if I can find it. All in all, not real difficult but as others mentioned, slower going than you would expect. I believe I preferred going up Louisa Falls with the canoe more than I would going down. I have that one on video but not loaded to Youtube yet. Found the Kip video Lining rocky creek |

06/27/2018 03:11PM This is a nice stretch of lakes and portages. Plan on a bit more time than the map would suggest. The portage into Glacier from the north is a steep climb. Be careful at Louisa Falls, as a slip would be a major fall. |

06/27/2018 01:44PM How are the portages and creek passage on this route in the Fall usually? We will plan on staying on Glacier for one night. |
