Agree.

I'll throw this trip out there. A fairly popular routes but you could camp on Pierz or Crystal Lakes to quickly get off the main route. Canoe basecamp

Easy/moderate with a bunkhouse at the entry point is seldom going to be off the beaten path (at least the outfitter is not going to hope so).

Entry 51 Missing Link - Tuscarora Outfitters. Go to Snipe Lake. Go out through Cross Bay Entry. Walk back for your vehicle at Tuscarora.

Entry 47 Lizz Lake - Rockwood Lodge has bunkhouse and breakfast at Trail Center restaurant. Lizz Lake to Horseshoe or Gaskin for the chance to see moose. Day-trip to Winchell for the path to the top of the cliffs and to find the small waterfall on the south shore and climb to the top.

I'm looking to take a 12 and 9 yo in on a 3 night basecamp trip in august. Portage in a few hours on day 1 and then park it there for 3 nights. prefer something a little off the beaten path for the basecamps campsite.

I'd like to stay somewhere the night before that has beds (cabin/lodge/bunkhouse) and ideally a good breakfast before heading in early. Anyone have a good suggestion for an outfitter/lodging at an entry point with a good 3 day basecamp trip that is easy/moderate for a couple kids in tow?
