If fishing is a priority, I'd suggest a loop from Nym. Head thru Pickerel Narrows then down to Antoine. Then down the Sturgeon Narrows and up through Lonely to Draper/Walter and back thru Batch to Nym.

Depends on where you want to depart from, of course, but I've fantasized about getting to Poohbah on a solo. 7 days would make it a challenge from almost any American departure point but thats part of the appeal.

A border route going out of Little Indian Sioux to stay to the Quetico side of LLC, Iron and Crooked also has lots of appeal. No doubt great fishing in those lakes but also big water and at that time of year the chance for howling winds.

Last September I did my first solo, 8 days, Cache Bay-Mack-Kawnipi-Falls Chain and back out. It was an amazing trip, didn't see anyone the entire time and caught lots of fish.

I'm looking to do another Quetico solo this September. Would love to get some route suggestions for a challenging 7 day trip.

Thanks in advance.
