Starting at Nym very early (because of normal strong south winds on Nym and Batch!) you should be able to camp on Jesse (good walleye) on night 1 and make Lonely easily for night 2. --Goose

Outfitters can drop you at Stanton Bay. You can not leave your car there but you can have the outfitter pick you up there or leave your car at French Lake put in. There is also a put in at Nym Lake.

That helps a lot, thanks. It sounds like it is very doable. If you enter the park from the Atikokan side, I wonder how the outfitters get you into the park. My old map does not show any roads leading to the park from the north (but then, it is an OLD map).

Thanks again!

I have been into both lakes about ten years or longer ago. You get to them from Lonely. There is a 20 yard portage which takes you to a creek that you paddle up if the water is high. When you run out of water you can portage along the right edge. You will finally get to a trail and if the water was high you can portage about 50 yards to the thin lake. I have fished it twice with little luck but it is suppose to have good walleye. You then can turn on right angles to the trail and go up a hill and portage to the round lake. I tried this 2 or 3 years ago and could not find the trail as there was significant blow down. I am sure you could bushwhack as the forest is sparse. When I was in the lake a long tome ago there were at least 20 bald headed eagles flying around the lake and the bass fishing was plentiful although the fish were small. I hope that helps and you make it.

I have heard that the fishing is more than "good", which is why i'm interested. I've also heard that people enter from the Lonely side, but I wonder if there is a specific part of the lake that makes for a better starting point than others, or if you just go for the shortest distance.

I haven't done it, but have been told that it can be done from Lonely side. Was told fishing can be good.

Has anyone bushwacked into the two small lakes between Antoine and Lonely? I'm wondering just how difficult the bushwack is and where you started from.
