08/03/2016 01:07PM Veggie - Welcome to the forum. A great lace to share and learn with like-minded folks. Yes- the wilderness has a powerful pull on all of us who have experienced it. At 66 myself, I look forward to retirement and more paddling! Old Hoosier |

08/03/2016 11:11AM Welcome to the forums! Like you, I love Quetico! I discovered Quetico rather late in life, so I, too, am trying to cram in as much exploration and adventure as I can in the limited time left. |

08/03/2016 09:17AM As I have posted in the "solo" forum, I am planning a solo trip in Quetico--Hunter Island Loop. My past history in Quetico: Fly-ins to Beaverhouse and Clay lake, Man Chain, Kawnipi area, solo trip into Kawnipi, Prairie Portage entry to Agnes, Kashapiwi. All trips at least one week. I have experience, but I still have a lot to learn. I still make mistakes, but try to learn from all of them. Quetico has taught me to respect nature and it's powers. Experiencing one strong thunderstorm can do that. Humility can be life saving! Going into Quetico changed my life. On my second trip in, my young son came with me, and we have shared a passion for "adventuring" of all sorts ever since, going on 25 years. Now I am 62 and am getting in as many more adventures as I can until I can't anymore. I have been many other places, but my "Soul-Home", at least on this planet, is up there in canoe country. |
