Saganagons, from the Saganaga put-in, has plenty of sites similar to what you describe. Those various bays along the south shore often have islands, and some have sites. I stayed on a couple of them, admittedly a long time ago, and they seem to fit your needs. Plenty of good fishing on there too, and it takes just one portage to get to that lake.

Have you given any thought as to which area of the park you'd like to enter? "

Whoops, I meant to include that in the original post.

We are from Wisconsin, so ideally entering near American Point/Saganaga Lake. I also think entry point 71 near Prairie Portage would be as easily doable.

Check out the islands in Rawn and Buckingham.

Hey all,

Recently engaged and instead of the typical bachelor party I am currently trying to plan a trip sometime before September 30th 2017 to the Quetico. For this trip, my group is looking for a trip into the Quetico area to get a really nice campsite that we can use as a base camp for several days to do day trips for fishing, hiking, etc. Our ideal site would be able to hold 2-3 (or more) tents, would be elevated from the water level, and would have a nice smooth rock bluff to lounge, take in the view, and possibly swim/dive from (I know... pretty idealistic, haha).

I was wondering if anyone here was willing to share any campsites they have found that have some of some or any of these characteristics.

We are all experience paddlers, so we would be willing to spend a day or day and a half to get to a site like this. Good fishing and proximity to good day trip attractions are a bonus.

Thanks in advance!
