We're heading in at Wood Lake on Sept. 21 for 5 days. Does anyone have an idea how the bugs will be? We have a Nemo screen tarp, but we're thinking maybe just a tarp would be ok.
This year there will be my 3 sons, my DDIL, my oldest son's friend, me and 3, yes, 3 dogs...my 19# poodle mix and my son and DDIL's 2 German shepherd 3-month-old pups. This should be interesting.

The bugs should not be a problem. I would not bother to bring the screen tent.

We were out in Quetico last week and the bugs were minimal to nonexistent. By the end of the month they should simply be nonexistent. I would not bring the screen tarp. With a lot of people and dogs though, you might consider a second tarp. It's been a wet season. Enjoy!

Thanks, you two, for the expert advice! Two tarps sounds like a great idea! I have a 10x10 that I made the first year we went into the BW and a Kelty Noah 12 that I got off of woot.com that should keep us covered and dry for the forecasted rainy evenings.
