I just had to show this off.
Many folks here know I'm a knife maker as well as a friend of Ben's.
I was at his house for a few days last week and had the chance to skin some of his firewood!!
It just makes awesome back ground for photos.
Thanks, Ben! (I think I want some more.)

Those are really nice! Can you specialize them? My father passed away a few years ago, and would like to give him something like that to my nephew. My kids are getting his guns, but would like to give my nephew something like that engraved.

Very nice! What kind of wood is the handle made of?

What a great idea. Lucky nephew to receive such a handsome knife. Makes a fella want to throw on some buckskin and go fight a bear, eh? ;-)

I don't want this to turn into a commercial thread - that is not the intent.
I have a backlog approaching two years. You can get in line.
See some more of my knives over in the "Edged Tools" sub-forum.

Some day I'll be able to afford one of these from you Karl! Ben showed this to me right after he acquired it from you. I dared not touch the blade, it was that sharp. Nice craftsmanship.

My birch logs are naked... Haha. Those trees were cut at the right time for that. In June I think is when you can best harvest birch bark. I have a buddy in Spokane who tried to show me that. He builds birch bark canoes. He goes to Alaska usually for his bark.
Karl is a pretty awesome craftsman. He's to knives to what Dan is to packs and such.

On the old US 24 Bypass around greater metro Watseka, Illinois.
That's a joke.
Seriously - I'm stuck between a corn field and a railroad track in No-man's Land Illinois.
We all have our price to pay in this life. That's mine.
