I have been playing around on Pivotal Weather.com and not much for MN in the next 10 days. Bummer.

No snow and cold weather is great ice making weather. It’s not even thanksgiving yet. There’s plenty of winter to go. I would rather have nice thick ice to fish on than thin slushy ice.

Been suppressed to the South with all this cold air. Had snow here in IA the other day with 7" not far from my abode. St louis got 4-6" last week and Houston and Galveston had the earliest recorded snowfall ever recorded and smashed the record by 10 days. Another system to watch for late in the weekend but currently doesn't have much ensemble support. ...... Pivotal weather is good-- but also check out -- Tropical Tidbits

but the fastest output of model data (if you simply must be faster then anyone else) is instant weather maps -- faster then what they have at most NWS offices.

I wish I got into meteorology in college. Only job you need to be 50% right on and keep your job:)

Not even 50%. Not even close. :O)
Keep an eye on your favorite forecast outlet for late Sunday into Monday. Those sites I posted above should get a good workout if your interested... HINT! But they will jump around like crazy for the next 3-4 days-- don't get too excited / upset quite yet.

Speaking of the cold- Hibbing has had 3 consecutive days where minimum temps have broken all time daily records. Just at 11:54 PM on the 19th, they were -10F. This breaks the previous record for the 19th of 1F set in 1964 by 11 degrees.

If one goes to the winter camping and activities thread; -- Here I have laid out reasons , starting last April as to why I (and some others) thought this upcoming winter would arrive early and with some "teeth". Just trying to show people that are interested in the "Why's before the What"- so to speak.

I do expect a return to more seasonal temps for most of DEC, but by that time seasonal averages have dropped significantly anyway. The bulk of the winter (real fun and games) still remains to be Late Jan and especially in FEB as of this writing.

-19F this AM in Brimson,MN! Quite impressive for Nov 20th. Again- when it's this cold, it's tough to appreciably snow with such little water vapor available. ( even though I know it snowed overnight from warm advection snows) -- not the types of events the OP is looking for.

2 plus inches yesterday by the airport in Duluth.
Gotta shovel again today, another inch just blessed us.

Oh, it'll be here. Be careful what you wish for. I'm remembering last April's snowstorm still.

I am a big fan of the snow as well but It can wait a few more days. Want to make sure the ground in the woods has a good frost and there is enough ice on the lakes. Will be trekking into the BWCA in 24 days.

Yes April's snow made it tough for paddling:

So we had a funeral in town today... snow hadn’t arrived. So I scraped off both the community center and church lots... then immediately it shot out an inch and a half or two of snow. If I could just post that angry guy icon... haha! Plus a furnace decided to not work. So I missed the funeral and almost the food...
I see a neighbor is out jumping on the crappies. Haha.

Btw white wolf... I don’t think we got near that cold just a couple miles from Hibbing.
