Over the last few months, I've tied a few every now and then. It's added up to this. June 3-10 I'll be going after lakers with a full sink line and a 8 wt. rod. I've had good luck by casting...letting out a ton of line paddling away from the cast.. then waiting 20-60 seconds depending on how deep I want to get. Anyone else go after lakers when they are at least 40 feet deep with a fly rod?
If anyone is interested in buying a few, let me know. They would work just fine with spinning gear, provided you add a few ounces of weight so you can cast them easier. Great for vertical jigging.
Nice work! I used to love tying but it seems I've lost my patience with age. Lol. I'll be chasing walleye starting June 1st. I carry a 5 and 8 weight. I have sinking line on the 5. I bring a spare 8 reel with sinking but I don't like using it. Good luck on your trout fishing. I take these and a topwater box as well.
